MEMBERSHIP MEETING
MINUTES
October 1, 2009
1. Call to
Order – 7:35 (Thanks to the membership that arrived
at 7:00)

President’s Report: John Zeitler
- Meeting began
with a moment of silence for past members,
especially Tom Casey Sr. Tom will be missed by all
members of Bd 41.
- New members were
introduced
- John continued
with his theme of – PASSION – take the job of
officiating seriously and as a profession. Always
strive to be better. Never stop improving.
- John also
reminded the older (veteran officials) to pass on
their knowledge and experiences with the younger
officials.
- Blow the Whistle
on Cancer Campaign – we will participate in the
campaign as we did last year.
- BOCES - Cards
must be handed to the coach before the game begins
Avoid working schools where you live or have a
connection to.
- John announced 2
new changes in the board. These changes were
discussed and approved by the Board of Directors at
their summer meeting.
1) Dues Reduction – Secretary/Treasurer Rich Krams
advised the Board of Directors that our surplus
funds are close to $30,000.
Therefore the Board of Directors approved a
temporary dues reduction 0f $10.00 (Dues - $80 and
Dues/Dinner - $100) for next year.
This reduction will remain in effect until the
surplus is lower.
2) Redistribution of the BOCES 30 Points of an
official’s rating.
Part 2 Exam – 20 Points ( 100-90=20, 89-85=18,
84-80=16, 79-70=14, Below 70=0)
Sportsmanship Ballot – 5 Points
Scrimmage or Top 100 – 5 Points

Operating Surplus Last Year – $3,424
No foreseeable dues rise for at least 5 years
- Approved
Assignor – Any official who assigns any games must
see me, in order for the liability insurance policy
to be in effect.
E-mail me with the information of your assigning
- Rule Books and
Part 1 exam were given out.

Interpreter’s Report – Don Landolphi and Jim Graham
- Web Site
-www.board41.org has information on plays and
contacting the interpreter. Try it!!!
- Don went over 3
important areas of concern – Pre Game Conference,
Alternating arrow situations, and when to start the
clock.
- Don will go over
3 or 4 situations at every meeting.

All Committees report Progress, except Big Brother
which met with new officials after the meeting

new officials or officials (did not work any BOCES
sports last year) must contact Peggy to get finger
printed.
If you don’t you
cannot work BOCES.
