MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
October 3, 2011

1. Call to Order – 7:35   attendance  

2. President’s Report: Joe Capozzi – Moment of silence for members who passed away since our last meeting
   - Pledge of Allegiance
   - IAABO International meeting
        Exposure and Liability: You are protected by our insurance, but don’t leave yourself open
        Follow the rule book. It’s your protection
        Accountability: Know the rules, apply them correctly, hustle and be consistent on calls
        Independent Contractor Status: We are all independent contractors – you are a business
   - Reminder of Changes (Approved by Board of Directors last year)
        Associations 30 points – 20 Part 2 exam, 5 pts Sportsmanship ballot, 5 pts – 2 pre season scrimmages.
       3 person officiating – SemiFinal, Final, and upstate Games
            Must attend a classroom session (Nov 3), plus do 2 – 3 person scrimmages (More to come)
       Glen Falls – must sit the next 2 years after you go
       Playoff’s – Top 24 will receive a 1st round game
       Lower Level – by 2012/13 season – bottom 10% will receive less games.
       All the above have been implemented

3. Interpreter’s Report: Don Landolphi – Teaching candidates that evening
     Jim Graham – detained at work
    - More at interpretation meeting

4. Secretary/Treasurer Report – Rich Krams
    - Financial Report – Profit of 1,494.00 from last season. With the $10.00 deduction in dues, our bank
       Surplus will begin to fall. Next season we will keep the temporary dues reduction.
    - Rule books and Roster books given out
    - Next meeting – section 8 books are available
    - IMPORTANT – THIS YEAR WE WILL USE THE IAABO REFRESHER EXAM AS YOUR YEARLY TEST – Exams will be given out at interpretation meeting or you can down load from web site www.board41.org

5. Committee Reports:
    Dinner – Dominick - Progress
    Ethics – Buckley – Report all incidents to Dusty immediately
        Use the form on the web site to report incidents to BOCES
        Be on time for games, dress in required uniform, and dress neatly going to games.
    OCC – Cirillo – Progress
    Big Brother – Michalowski – Met after meeting

Old Business: - None

New Business - A handout was given to membership regarding candidate and new member training program.
