MEMBERSHIP MEETING MINUTES
November 30, 2009

1. Call to Order – 7:35 (Thanks to the membership that arrived at 7:00)

2. President’s Report: John Zeitler
   - Blow the Whistle on Cancer Campaign – we will participate in the campaign as we did last year. More at the next meeting
   - BOCES - Cards must be handed to the coach before the game begins
              Avoid working schools where you live or have a connection to.
             New contract has new provision regarding coaches not handing in ratings – clarification at next meeting

3. Secretary/Treasurer’s Report: Rich Krams
   Part 2 exams were given out. Absent members will receive by mail.
     PART 2 ANSWER SHEET MUST BE RETURNED BY THE DEC 14 MEETING OR POSTMARKED BY DEC 13. FAILURE TO RETURN THE EXAM COULD RESULT IN THE LOSE OF CERTIFICATION
   Redistribution of the BOCES 30 Points of an official’s rating.
      Part 2 Exam – 20 Points ( 100-90=20, 89-85=18, 84-80=16, 79-70=14, Below 70=0)
      Sportsmanship Ballot – 5 Points
      Scrimmage or Top 100 – 5 Points

4. Interpreter’s Report – Don Landolphi and Jim Graham
   - Web Site - www.board41.org has information on plays and contacting the interpreter. Try it!!!
   - Don went over Technical foul situations – a good discussion followed
   - Don will go over 3 or 4 situations at every meeting.
   - All officials must apply rules the same
  JRHI RULES ARE ON THE WEB SITE. PLEASE READ OVER

   Ken Lange went over liability issues –
      1- Know the rule book
      2 - Know where security is before game starts
      3 – Don’t touch injured player – let coach and trainer take care of it
      4 – Check court for dangerous situations and obstructions
        (e.g.- table on the end line, no room under the basket for spectators, wet floor, etc)

5. Committee Reports:
   Dinner – Sam Dominick - Progress
   Ethics – Dusty Buckley
   Games must start at scheduled time. Do not start without partner before game time.
   Ejections of any kind – players, coaches, spectators you must fill out the Unsportsmanship Report
   OCC – Joe Capozzi – New contract more about it next meeting.
   Nominating – Joe Gaskin – Elections next meeting – see BELOW
   Big Brother Committee – Joe Michalowski     Met with new officials after the meeting
