SHOT-CLOCK SITUATIONS:
FULL RESET (30 SECONDS IN NCAA WOMEN’S RULES & 35 SECONDS IN NFHS RULES):

1. A-1 shoots and misses rim, horn, shot clock violation, ball to Team B at endline.
2. A-1 shoots and misses rim, no horn, Team B rebounds, new shot clock period.
3. A-1 shoots an “air-ball”, A-2 taps ball that hits rim, new shot clock period on possession. (A tap is considered a try for goal in this situation.).
4. Shot, horn, shot made, count basket, new shot clock period on touch of throw-in.
5. Shot, horn, ball hits rim, ignore horn, new shot clock period to either team on possession.
6. Shot, ball hits rim, horn, ignore horn, new shot clock period to either team on possession.
7. Shot, ball hits rim, no horn, play continues with new shot clock period to either team on possession.
8. Shot, horn, inadvertent whistle, made basket, count basket.
9. Shot, horn, inadvertent whistle, ball hits rim, blow whistle, alternating possession arrow.
10. A-1 shoots, shot in flight, blocked by B-1, simultaneously recovered by B-1 & A-2 for held ball, alternating possession arrow.
11. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1, possession gained by Team B, horn, ignore horn, Team B had ball before horn sounded, continue play with new shot clock period.
12. A-1 shoots, horn, blocked by B-1, ball does not hit rim, shot clock violation, ball to Team B, new shot clock period.
13. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1, horn, ball does not hit rim, possession by Team A, shot clock violation, ball to Team B at endline, new shot clock period.
14. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1, horn, ball does not hit rim, shot clock violation, ball to Team B, new shot clock period.
15. A-1 shoots, horn, blocked by B-1 out of bounds, shot clock violation, ball to Team B at spot of ball with new shot clock period.
16. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1 towards out of bounds, horn, then ball hits out of bounds, shot clock violation, ball to Team B at out-of-bounds spot.
17. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1, horn, then Team B gains possession, shot clock violation, ball to Team B at endline closest to ball when horn sounded.
18. A-1 shoots, 2 seconds on shot clock, blocked by B-2 sending ball into B’s front court, as B-2 moves to recover ball, shot clock horn sounds; shot clock violation, ball to Team B out-of-bounds at spot closest to where ball was when whistle blown.
19. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1, horn, B-1 fouls A-1 on the shot, ball does not hit rim, penalize foul, disregard shot clock violation.
20. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1 and B-1 fouls A-1, horn, ball does not hit rim, penalize foul, disregard shot clock violation.

NO RESET:

21. A-1 shoots and misses rim, no horn, Team A rebounds, clock continues to run.
22. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1 out of bounds, Team A gets ball at out-of-bounds spot with no new shot clock period.
23. A-1 shoots, blocked by B-1, possession gained by Team A, shot clock continues running.
24. Pass by A-1, ball deflected by B-1, hits rim, no reset, play continues.
25. Pass by A-1, ball deflected by A-2, hits rim, no reset, play continues.

 Also, if the ball is intentionally kicked or fisted and if the shot clock shows 14 seconds or less, the shot clock will be set to 15 seconds.
If the shot clock shows 15 seconds or more, there will be no reset of the shot clock.
